Product activation basics

Product activation is an anonymous, secure, and hassle free process that authenticates licensed users during the installation process. The process verifies that the serial number is legitimate, and has not been activated on more systems than allowed by the product license agreement. It does not affect the ability of licensed users to use their software the way they have always done.

Product activation is a series of simple steps that takes place during the installation of your IMFirewall branded product. Users enter their serial number, which is authenticated with the IMFirewall branded product activation system to activate the product. The entire activation process is quick and easy, and the majority of users will experience product activation only once.

You must activate your product within 15 days after you first launch it.

If you don't activate your product by the 15th day after you first launch it, it will stop working until you activate it.

You can activate your product 24 hours a day, seven days a week, either on the Internet or by Email. Either option takes only a few short steps to complete. Internet product activation requires you to type in your serial number. Email activation requires you to send an activation code to our administrator's Email.

The activation process uses minimal information about your product and system to create a request for a product license. Basically, a license request is sent to our administrator either through a secure Internet connection or by entering the request into the activation system. If the request is valid, a license is returned that enables the product immediately. The activation process is anonymous and never requests, collects, or transmits personal information. It does not scan your hard drive, and none of the information collected can be used to identify your individual system components.

We use the information only to verify that your product is used within the scope allowed by its IMFirewall product license agreement. The information is stored in a database used only for product activation data. If you register your product, none of the activation information will ever be linked to your personal customer information.

Our product license agreement generally allow you to install and use software on a single computer. However, we realize that many customers need to use software on more than one computer, such as a desktop and a laptop. Therefore, our license agreement for products that require activation has changed to allow individual users to install a secondary license for non-concurrent use. Product activation allows installation on three machines.
